ESCAP - ESCWA Inter-Regional Exchange | Study Visit on Good Practices of Implementation of Green Growth Policy Tools for Low Carbon Development

<p>The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Environment and Development Policy Section, in collaboration with the Productive Sectors Section of the Sustainable Development and Productivity Division of the Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) organized an Inter-regional Exchange Study Visit on Good Practices of Implementation of Green Growth Policy Tools for Low Carbon Development from the 19th to 25th April 2013 in Thailand. The study visit provided an opportunity for the policy makers in West Asia to get acquainted with success stories in the application of green growth policies and tools in Thailand.</p>

Training Seminar on Green Growth Policy Tools for Low Carbon Development in Mongolia

<p>The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in conjunction with Mongolia’s Ministry of Environment and Green Development (MEGD), organized a training seminar on Green Growth Policy Tools for Low Carbon Development in Ulaanbaatar from 10th-12th of April 2013. The objectives of the training seminar were to enhance awareness on Green Growth policies and capacity for their application in specific national context, and to build a basis for the development of Mongolia’s Green Development Roadmap.</p>

Philippines | The First National Seminar of Green Growth Policy Tools For Low Carbon Development

<p>The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in collaboration with the Government of the United Kingdom, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), the Asian Women’s Network on Gender and Development (AWNGAD), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) conducted the First National Seminar on Green Growth Policy Tools for Low Carbon Development in the Philippines from the 12th to 14th of November 2012 at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’s (DENR) Social Hall in Manila, Philippines.</p><p>Fifty high- and middle-level managers from the DENR and other government agencies underwent training on green growth to aid the government’s efforts to transition the country’s economy to a “green” one.</p>
